Hi folks. I was talking with my cousin in Hornbrook just yesterday. As I sometimes do, as we talked, I got somewhat carried away. It all started with the hurricanes in Louisiana and the Red Cross and FEMA cards that have been given to people. I recently saw where a couple of women had purchased $800 purses with some of that money. This of course, was not what the money was provided for.

It brought back memories of one of the radio talk show hosts and some talk I overheard in the past. The liberals wish for equality for everyone. And the way they attempt to do so is to take from those that have, and give to those that don't have. By this process they attempt to raise the poor up some and bring the wealthier down some. Of course this will never work! The poor who don't work for a living, just buy $800 purses!

They know that the liberals will feed their family for them with another program coming from the taxpayers money in some manner. Is there any doubt of this? Of course I don't believe that the wealthy liberals will ever stoop to actually giving their own money to these people who will not support them selves! No, they give the working man's tax dollars for this. The poor will always be poor....what I mean by this is with the attitude that many have developed, that the government owes them, they will never try to enrich themselves by working for it. What they do look for are loopholes, and new programs from the government that will give them food, food stamps, insurance, or just plain cash!

Their attitude is the key, either to the way out, or the way to continue sucking juice from the government. And the liberals in our government do all they can so that this won't change. Why is that, by the way? Do you suppose that they expect these people to vote to keep them in office? Why do they want to stay in office? Could it be the power and money they have access to while there? Do you for one minute think that they really give a damn about those people? I'm speaking about the politicians now, because there are do-gooder's who do care, but their's is a hopeless task in the whole.

So back to the hurricane victims. We all understand that many people will need help. There is much help delivered by church groups, Red Cross and even individual families and companies taking place. State and County (or in Louisiana, Perish) help is being provided and should be the first to help these individuals and families. Our Federal government should be coming in helping with the dams, public utilities, and big companies who provide services to the people of the State. Why should FEMA get involved in rescuing individual? That is not the US Governments job. FEMA has perfectly spelled out rules that they have to operate by....it seems tho that in the case of people who won't attempt to help themselves that now they are expected to do everything for those folks too! What about the working guy? Do you ever expect that kind of help? If you did ask for it what do you think would happen? Only the criminals, people who won't work, and illegal's seem to be eligible. And they get our money! Doesn't this whole concept make you burn? It does me. Why not require something from these people who get money? Like a little work?
