Hi Folks:

Well, it's early in the morning and my thoughts are mixed on some issues that we are facing. I respect President Bush's war on terrorism and know he's attempting to do his best. He's getting almost universal resistance from the Liberals and often from the so-called Moderates in Congress. Recently he's being taken to task for his selection of Judge Alito for the Supreme Court and also his use of the NSA to tap telephones etc. on suspected terrorists in the United States.

Also in my thoughts is the resurrection of the new bankruptcy laws in the news.

My initial reaction to Judge Alito is that he seems very respected in conservative circles. He is a better choice that Mr. Bush's first choice. The Republicans are in power and that means that Mr. Bush has every right to have the Judge of his choice if the person is qualified. This is the same when the democrat's are in power. Lets okay Judge Alito's nomination.

My reaction to the use of wiretaps by the NSA was a similar one as I know Mr. Bush is trying to save us all from those terrorists. Then......when the news came out again about the October changes in the Bankruptcy laws I started having second thoughts. What is next regarding people and debt? We know that big business will still be able to go bankrupt or use the new laws to their advantage if they need to, but what about the rest of us? Is the next step to again have debtors prison?

We here in the United States came here to get away from that kind of thing (not counting those who were sent to Georgia to work their debts off at the beginning of the colony). We came to get away from being spied upon also and we determined that we as people had God-given rights. We created a constitution and a bill of rights to give more understanding to that document. These people who are being spied upon without the benefit of an order from a judge are citizens. They aren't visitors, or illegal aliens, etc., they are citizens like you and I. The government can easily get a warrant signed by a judge whenever a wiretap is needed, they do not have the right to spy on we citizens unconditionally. That is what we fought in W.W.I, W.W.II, Vietnam, Korea, and now in Iraq and Afghanistan. Those were times and places where either the communists or the dictators gave the citizens no rights. Are we headed back in that direction?

Below read something that Plato wrote many century's ago in his comments about the destruction of Atlantis:

"When the divine portion began to fade away, and became diluted too often and too much with the mortal admixture, and the human nature gained the upper hand, they then, being unable to bear their fortune, behaved in an unseemly manner and to him who had an eye to see, grew visibly debased, for they were losing the fairest of their precious gifts; but to those who had no eye to see the true happiness, they appeared glorious and blessed at the very time when they were full of avarice and un-righteous power."

He's talking about taking God out of the lives of the people of that time and place folks and how this led to their demise. Do you see any relationship to what's happening in our own country at this time? We need to guard our rights and our right to worship as we please and not forget that this country was founded by God fearing (meaning loving/respecting) people, not by atheist's. Atheist's could never found something as glorious at the United States of America and if that perversion of human belief should ever take control our demise as a country will be at hand.

Well, enough of this for now. Catch you later.
